oenophilia Coutale Plus Corkscrew is a radical remake of the traditional waiter's corkscrew. This amazing wine opener features a Teflon-coated spiral for effortless cork extraction, as well as a foilcutter. Just screw the Teflon worm into the bottle, position the boot and gently press the handle down to extract the cork. Makes a great gift or present to yourself.
It took me a while to warm to this waiters corkscrew as I am reasonably adept with a classic waiters corkscrew. The foil cutter works very nicely with a turn of the wrist and the teflon coated corkscrew itself very quickly and easily bores into a cork. This Oenophilia corkscrew is both sturdily made and very nicely finished and designed.
It differs from a classic corkscrew in that there is a small hook which you need to engage over the bottle lip. You then push down on the handle to open your wine bottle. This process takes a bit of learning and coordination but less so than a classic corkscrew. Overall this is a very nice wine/kitchen gift/gadget which I enjoy using.
