I bought this as a replacement for our first Rabbit which finally cracked in the middle from over-use. We pretty much open at least one bottle of wine per day and I always tell my husband he should use the foil cutter first. But he is too lazy so the Rabbit has to work too hard pulling the cork through the foil. Nevertheless, the first one worked great for many years. When this new one arrived, I noticed that it said it had a 10 year warranty. So I boxed up the old one and sent it back to Metrokane, asking that they repair it. Instead they sent a brand new one. So now I have two. And my husband still doesn't use the foil cutter. Great product, great company.

The Rabbit corkscrew is great. The construction is sturdy and it feels like it will last for quite a while. It makes opening wine bottles much easier. I got this for my parents since they are wine lovers and the Rabbit makes it easier for the lady of the house to open the bottles. Once you get the hang of how the Rabbit functions it becomes quick and effortless. No broken corks or spilled wine either:)

We've had ours for almost 3 years. Had already gone through a few 2 lever rabbit style openers. This one is easy for us to use, even me - not very strong in the arms - can stand at the counter & easily open a bottle of wine & get the cork out. Vs. Rabbit had to put between my legs & use a hand towel to hold to get the cork out. Well worth the money. Have purchased for my friends who agree. Last one you'll need to buy - not made of that cheap plastic - actually metal & sturdy - I expect to be my last one.

This is by far the best corkscrew I've owned. Other reviews of the same model mention problems if the cork is not removed, but I've not encountered these problems yet, so I give it the full five stars.

The first thing that appeals to me is the beauty of the item. It is like a sculpture. Believe it or not, I love having it just for the pleasure of looking at it when I use it. It even makes me smile when I'm looking for something else and happen upon it by chance.

Second, it has the easiest-to-use action of any corkscrew I've had. I suspect that is because of the length of the lever which probably provides the best leverage avaiable. Its operation is smooth as silk, as is the ejecting action. Also, the manner of placing it on the bottle and squeezing is, in my opinion, easier and more natural than the older "double-wing" method.

If you don't mind spending the money, I recommend this corkscrew without reservation. It is as lovely to use as it is to look at.

This corkscrew is a pleasure from start to finish. For starters, it looks great: high-quality metals, high-tech finish, precision machining. It catches the eye in an artistic way. Then the feel: solid, hefty, tight, crisp action, precise movement. Compared to the cheap plastic ones, it's a Mercedes vs. a Yugo. And let's not forget that it pulls corks -- like no other corkscrew can! Cut the foil (BTW, the included foil cutter is also of superior quality), slip the Screwpull on the neck of the bottle, and VOOM! A quick stroke in and out, and the cork is pulled in a flash. The large, heavy lever makes it easy even for smaller people to yank corks. A couple of years ago I bought the plastic Screwpull and I liked it, but this time I thought I'd indulge myself. Am I ever glad I did! This model is sooo much nicer. Incidentally, you can find replacement screws for the Elegance that have ball bearings in them -- Wow! Ultra-smooth and silky. Check the Le Creuset website for dealers. I love this item. It's a combination of advanced function and true luxury. Want a splurge that you can get good use out of for years? Here it is. Highly recommended.


...These types of corkscrews work phenomenally well and you'll find yourself just itching to crack open a bottle of wine just to use this amazing device. Amazon.com sells similar corkscrews for far less, and as long as it's all-metal construction, there's no need to spend $$$ for this one. Buy the $$$[less expensive] model and spend the rest of a few bottles of decent wine!


Definately not a necessity, but absolutely a pleasure to use. Comfortably solid and heavy in your hands, after pulling the first cork you'll be looking for excuses to open more wine! Comes with a replacement worm, but I haven't worn out the first one after a year of normal use. The foil cutter works well, the stand is sturdy.<p>Spendy, yes, but if you're looking for a fabulous gift for your wine loving friend, or a way to spoil yourself, you won't regret this purchase.

I collect corkscrews. The Elegance is the top of the line for the Screwpull series of corkscrews. It is efficient and looks like a work of art, and makes a great gift. <p>It comes with a stand, unlike most similar models, and the stand can rest on your shelf or be mounted on the wall. The stand occupies a large footprint on your shelf. <p>The included Screwpull foil cutter is the best available, but both hands are required to remove it from the stand. <p>The unit is a bit heavy, even for guys. In combination with the floppy arms, the heaviness makes it somewhat awkward to use. Once positioned, there is no speedier cork removal available; but it requires a bit of arm strength, particularly for a sticky cork. After the cork has been pulled, it is easily released from the unit<p>Overall, I believe that the best corkscrew for most guys and gals is the Winemaster (by Vacu Vin). It is less cumbersome to use than the Elegance and requires minimal effort. It looks good and has a small footprint on your shelf. Its included foil cutter works very well and can be removed from the unit and replaced with one hand. As with the Elegance, after the cork has been pulled, it is easily released from the unit.
